The Movie Database (TMDB)
SINK uses the TMDB API for movie and television metadata, including titles, artwork, release dates, and cast information. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Acoustic Synchronization
For covered titles, SINK can compare a short on-device audio query with a derived fingerprint reference to estimate playback position. Raw microphone and browser-tab audio is not uploaded or retained for viewer sync. In the separate Hosted Screenings pilot, an authorized organizer may temporarily upload source media so SINK can create a private exact-cut fingerprint; SINK deletes that source after processing and does not stream or redistribute it to attendees.
Infrastructure
- Supabase: authentication, database, and realtime infrastructure
- PostHog: product analytics
- Sentry: error and performance monitoring
- Stripe: payment processing when paid access is enabled
- Vercel: hosting and deployment
Content Usage
SINK does not stream or redistribute movies, shows, broadcasts, or organizer screeners to viewers. Viewers access content through a lawful provider or organizer-controlled exhibition. The browser extension and mobile beta provide a separate synchronized discussion layer and do not bypass DRM. Temporary, organizer-authorized processing for Hosted Screenings is limited to the features and retention choices the organizer enables.
